  • Hunters are donating extra deer meat through the Hunters for the Hungry program, with Wise Brothers Processing sending 500 pounds of venison to Old Savannah City Mission today, as $350,000 in statewide funding boosts the program’s expansion to 56 sites & aims for 140,000 lbs to feed families.  The Current
  • On Saturday, hundreds visited Tybee Island as mid-70s temperatures lured locals and visitors to surf, fish and enjoy beach activities. Free parking and pleasant weather led to crowded lots, and the island’s mayor said more visitors will attend next week’s fireworks show and polar plunge.  WJCL

  • Researchers from UGA and LSU studying wild turkeys report that hens in hunted areas may be hatching more female offspring than those at the non-hunted Savannah River Site.
