- ➤ A Savannah rabbi is mourning his childhood friend, Rabbi Eli Schlanger, killed during a terror attack at a Hanukkah celebration in Sydney. Rabbi Zalman Refson is working with law enforcement to secure upcoming local celebrations while urging community unity. WTOC 11
- ➤ The Rotary Club of Savannah held its annual Christmas party Monday afternoon with a toy drive supporting Santa’s Bunker for military families — soldiers from Fort Stewart joined by video chat from Poland as a Polish Rotary club hosted their celebration. WTOC 11

- ➤ Effingham College and Career Academy History teacher Sarah Martin uses creative storytelling to help freshmen understand historical facts and offers extra help before and after school to build skills + confidence, with her AP class reporting a 100 percent pass rate. WJCL
- ➤ Galen College of Nursing hosted a grand opening for its new Savannah campus at its facility (500 Mosaic Circle in Pooler) last week. The 67,000 sqft campus in partnership with Memorial Health featured tours, simulation demos and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Savannah Business Journal

- ➤ The forecast for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day predicts warmer conditions after Tuesday’s freeze in Savannah, as temperatures are expected in the 60s to low 70s according to the Climate Prediction Center from December 23 through 29. WJCL
- ➤ Heavy erosion slices away dunes along Tybee Island’s North Beach and shuts down the 2nd Street access today as strong currents carve steep drops that have moved nearby sea turtle nests — the change is visible and affecting beach conditions. Savannah Morning News
