- ➤ River Street Sweets donated $22,000 to Kids Cafe to support afterschool meals and tutoring for local children, raising funds during its annual Pralines Day round-up that helped provide more than 100,000 meals. This marks the ninth consecutive year the business has contributed to ending child hunger. WTOC 11

- ➤ IntelliSystems, a managed IT services and cybersecurity firm with local roots, wins the 2025 Best of Georgia Award for the third straight year. The company plans to expand its offerings in Savannah while continuing its Technology Reimagined approach. WTOC 11
- ➤ The Small Business Assistance Corporation held its annual holiday awards luncheon at Savannah Golf Club on Dec. 3, honoring local entrepreneurs and banking partners with awards, business scholarships, and new grant funding — reporting 79 small business loans totalling $17.7 million that supported 214 projects. - ➤ The family-friendly Venardos Circus has been touring Pooler since Dec. 4 and will run until Dec. 14, skipping shows on Dec. 8 & Dec. 9. The 90-minute Broadway-style performance led by ringmaster Kevin Venardos features contortion, aerial acrobatics & dagger throwing. WTOC 11
- ➤ Today, National Comfort Food Day spotlights peach cobbler (a warm dessert made with sweet peaches from Georgia’s 130 million lbs annual crop) as locals enjoy a beloved tradition. Savannah Morning News
- ➤ Local towns will celebrate the holiday season with tree lightings, parades, markets and festive shows from early December through early January. Savannah will host its Christmas Street Parade on Dec. 13 — its Christmas Market runs daily from Nov. 20 through Dec. 31, and nearby communities are planning similar events. Savannah Morning News

- ➤ On Dec. 4, Army & EPA officials tested private drinking water wells near Hunter Army Airfield and found all samples were below EPA PFAS limits, supporting safe drinking water for the community. Savannah Morning News

- ➤ Officials warn that residents should switch from open flames to flameless candles and check light strings and extension cords to reduce holiday fire risks. Fire officials note that candles (33% of holiday fires are linked to them) are a major hazard and urge nightly safety checklists. WJCL
- ➤ Tybee Island residents are invited to a public meeting on Dec. 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Tybee Island YMCA & will share feedback on proposed safety improvements for US 80/SR 26 from Lazaretto Creek Bridge to Tybrisa Street. Savannah Morning News
