COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ The Frank Callen Boys and Girls Club raised $266,662 during its Building Great Futures telethon — a record-breaking total — to fund after-school and other programs amid a tight fiscal year. Board chair John Brooks said volunteers and corporate donors — including two $20,000 checks from RTX/Collins Aerospace and Comcast — helped support efforts to equip local youth with skills from athletics to computer training. - ➤ Starting November 26, the Tybee Pier Pavilion will offer free holiday ice skating from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. until December 14, except Thanksgiving Day. Skates will be provided by pier staff and children must skate with an adult—ensuring safety by the Atlantic Ocean. WTOC 11
- ➤ Municipalities in Chatham, Bryan and Effingham counties are hosting diverse holiday events, including Savannah’s tree lighting at 5 p.m. on Nov. 28 and a lighted boat parade at 7 p.m. on Nov. 29—bringing festive spirit throughout the region. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ An early morning fire closed Crystal Beer Parlor on West Jones Street around 2:45 a.m. Friday when smoke and flames emerged from an exterior walk-in cooler — the main building was not damaged and the restaurant will remain closed until further notice as investigators examine the cause. WJCL
- ➤ Early Friday morning, Savannah Fire Department responded to a fire at Crystal Beer Parlor on 301 W. Jones St.—owner John Nichols said he will clean up the damage and reopen the historic restaurant soon while investigators work to determine the cause. Savannah Morning News
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Local hemp store owner Rashaun Bush of Avni Farms said new government limits on THC products will force the store to drop about 90% of its inventory — leaving customers with fewer strong options — as lawmakers included the restriction when reopening government. The ban may also risk 300,000 jobs, and Bush warned that customers might turn to unregulated sources if they do not get the relief they need. WSAV

- ➤ Students at Savannah Arts Academy won the Class 2AA State Championship in the GHSA One-Act Play Competition on Nov. 15 with an adaptation of 'The Seagull' by Anton Chekhov, earning the school its first state title.
