- ➤ Savannah officials unveiled a pair of benches crafted from wood salvaged from the Live Oak tree—Spider Web—removed in 2024 due to safety concerns. The benches now give families a new place to gather at McCauley Park. Savannah Morning News
- ➤ WSAV’s Tina Tyus-Shaw and Ben Senger honored local veterans on November 11 with a special feature—highlighting their stories, journeys, and challenges. WSAV
- ➤ Over the past four years, more than 150 homeless veterans were housed through the Cove at Dundee—a tiny home community that offers fully furnished units, on-site medical services, and support connecting them to VA benefits. - ➤ Today, the City of Savannah is partnering with Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia to deliver 1,400 food boxes over three days—starting today—in all six alderman districts to support households affected by reduced SNAP benefits; each day, 234 boxes will be available at two locations with one box per household while supplies last. - ➤ The Savannah-Chatham County Public School District has begun random searches in all 20 elementary schools to find items such as vapes, lighters, and pocket knives—school administrators use a random number to decide which students are checked.
