EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Savannah Technical College was awarded a $181,061.82 grant from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety on November 4 to boost its driver safety education program through The Coastal Georgia Center for Driver Safety. The funding used advanced tools like virtual reality simulators and Fatal Vision goggles—helping high school students, young adults and parents learn about the dangers of distracted and impaired driving in Bryan, Chatham, Effingham and Liberty counties. - ➤ Nearly 600 children lost early learning and care on Nov. 3 when 15 local Head Start programs in 12 counties closed due to the federal shutdown.
