- ➤ Savannah’s 20th annual Wag-O-Ween took place this past weekend at Pulaski Square, drawing about 3,000 people who dressed their dogs and trick-or-treated to vendors & joined in activities to support 12 local animal rescues. The event raised over $100,000 last year and sponsored 300 spays and neuters while celebrating rescues like Renegade Rescue in the community. WTOC 11
- ➤ The 75th annual South Georgia State Fair is in town through Nov. 2 and draws hundreds of guests with rides, live shows and food—visitors enjoy free entry for children under 5 and tickets of $10 or $15 on regular days while a 75th anniversary special today offers $5 admission plus unlimited rides at $15 when purchased in person. - ➤ Hurricane Melissa is now a major category 4 storm with winds of 140 mph and is moving slowly west near Jamaica as it rapidly intensifies over the Caribbean. Models show it will likely become a category 5 soon while staying well east of Savannah—reducing the risk of local impacts. WJCL

- ➤ The Savannah Police Department offered Halloween safety tips today and announced police-sponsored events like Trunk-or-Treat and Blue Light Fright Night.
