- ➤ Savannah Technical College students restored gravestones for local civil rights leader W.W. Law and his family at Laurel Grove South Cemetery—this hands-on project helped preserve important markers and connect students with Savannah's history. WTOC 11
- ➤ Savannah State University was chosen as one of 30 schools for the IBM SkillsBuild AI Freshmen HBCU Initiative that equips first-year students with basic artificial intelligence skills — all freshmen must now complete the three-hour ‘Getting Started with Artificial Intelligence’ course, unlocking over 1,000 additional IBM learning opportunities. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The National Hurricane Center is monitoring two disturbances in the Atlantic—one system, Invest 98-L, is producing showers and thunderstorms while moving west at 20-25 mph toward the Caribbean with a 30% chance of development, and the other, a low-pressure area off Canada, may gain subtropical traits before entering cooler waters. With 12 named storms already this season and more possible until November, residents are advised to stay alert. WJCL

- ➤ A new 'airnasium' has opened at L Scott Stell Park in Savannah—this covered basketball court is part of a $22M project funded by SPLOST dollars to improve public spaces and infrastructure.
