- ➤ Tybee Island Fire Rescue rescued two swimmers caught in a rip current on Sunday afternoon—responding at 4:30 p.m. to pull them from rough, 6-foot surf 400 yards offshore, and no medical help was needed. WTOC 11

- ➤ Travel + Leisure ranked Savannah as the third most haunted city in the nation based on ghost sightings, haunted sites and local stories. Visitors come to its old cemeteries and inns where ghosts from the past are seen. GPB News
- ➤ Savannah Arts Academy held a lively festival for Hispanic Heritage Month with music, dance, art, and food while raising nearly $2,000 for MESE programs. Teacher Ana Zurita led the event that featured over 20 performances and drew about 230 people who celebrated their Latin roots — marking one of the academy’s most successful celebrations in recent years. - ➤ Researchers from multiple groups netted two manatees—Luciano and Gar—near Hilton Head Island and fitted them with GPS tracking devices—tools to monitor their health and migration—as part of a study that examined how the animals move north along the Atlantic coast during warmer months. WJCL
