- ➤ Felisha Shellman said that her mother’s headstone at Bonaventure Cemetery has been repeatedly damaged—its vase fell off in 2022, was reattached off-center in 2024, and completely fell off during a recent visit. City Maintenance Superintendent Jack Hobby later apologized and offered a replacement—yet Shellman remains determined to secure justice for her mother’s resting place. WTOC 11

- ➤ DO Savannah is set to host a busy weekend with First Friday Festivities on Oct 3 that include the Sulfur Street Fair, new gallery exhibits, and a film screening with Q&A at Savannah Cultural Arts Center. - ➤ Tropical Storm Imelda moves northeast at 7 mph and is expected to strengthen to a hurricane today + bring heavy rain, high rip current risk, and gusty winds along the coast. - ➤ Savannah city leaders discussed SPLOST in a meeting today to review its potential impact on local projects and the city budget ahead of the November election. They plan to update residents as discussions continue. WTOC 11
- ➤ Voters in Georgia and South Carolina must register for the municipal elections on November 4 — Georgia voters have until October 6 while South Carolina voters must register by October 5 with mail applications accepted if postmarked by October 6. WTOC 11
- ➤ The House Study Committee met in Savannah to review plans for legalizing sports betting and horse wagering in Georgia as experts shared data on potential jobs, tourism, and revenue.
