The Golden Girls Murder Mystery will feature shows on Sept.20 at the Clyde Venue and Thunderbolt hosts a free Golden Hour Jazz event at Nellie Johnson Park on Sept.21 at 5 p.m.—a diverse week for local arts and music fans. - ➤ Mayor Johnson provided an update Tuesday on the restoration of the historic fountain in Forsyth Park that traveled 300 miles from Alabama back to Savannah. The fountain will not be turned on this week and work will continue for several weeks with a ceremony planned for early November — residents are urged to stay clear of the work area. WSAV
- ➤ Savannah alderwoman Alicia Miller Blakely defended her social media comments about conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot on Sept. 10, during her weekly podcast and said she has a right to express her views despite calls for her resignation. Mayor Van Johnson also stressed that free speech must be maintained even as public outrage grew — and Blakely compared her personal loss to the tragedy faced by Kirk’s family. WSAV
