  • On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, hospitality leaders, food producers, and supply chain experts will gather at Georgia Southern University Armstrong Campus in Savannah for a workshop aimed at building local food supply chains. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Mayor Van Johnson delivered his weekly address on August 12—he explained local government updates to Savannah residents in clear terms.  WSAV
  • About 600 election officials gathered in person at the Savannah Convention Center and online for the Georgia Association of Voter Registration and Election Officials convention to review voter registration, voting machine updates, and new rules for the upcoming elections—officials shared plans to use social media to engage youth and prepare for early voting opportunities. The meeting also addressed challenges like the removal of QR codes from ballots and the need for state funding for technology improvements.  WTOC 11
  • Georgia DOT is asking for public input on a plan to connect Atlanta and Savannah by passenger rail through an online survey that runs until the end of August. The study, backed by $8 million federal funds and $2 million from GDOT, will help set a service plan by 2028—feedback will shape route choices for future stops.  WSAV
