  • On Saturday, National Farmers Market Day at Forsyth Park drew hundreds of locals who shopped for fresh, locally sourced produce despite summer limitations. Vendors said strong sales were driven by rising grocery prices—encouraging shoppers to seek better quality staples—as they looked forward to a larger autumn harvest.  WSAV

  • Savannah Police are asking for help identifying a robbery suspect—seen in a mask during an Aug. 8 incident—and urge anyone with tips to call CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020 or the Major Crimes Unit at 912-651-6728.  WJCL

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Data from the Georgia Department of Education shows that Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools improved math scores for grades 3-4 and science scores for 5th and 8th grades—reading, social studies, and U.S. History scores have declined.   • Officials held a ribbon cutting on August 8 at the new Windsor Forest High School to mark its grand opening.
