A woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle around 11 p.m. on Tybee Island’s 11th Street near the beach — the Georgia State Patrol is investigating at the request of local police.

At about 11 p.m. on August 3 a pedestrian died on Tybee Island after stepping from a car in front of a home and falling onto the road when a driver made a U-turn — Georgia State Patrol took over the investigation after rescuers attempted lifesaving measures.

Statesboro police are seeking 43-year-old Christy Wilson, last seen on Coach Lee Hill Blvd in a blue nightgown + with her hair now purple, and ask anyone with information to contact Senior Detective Cross.
