- ➤ Fire crews are on scene at a house fire at 1305 7th Avenue on Tybee Island—residents and visitors are told to avoid the area so that first responders can work safely, while nearby structures were saved although a dog died in the blaze. WJCL
- ➤ Emergency crews responded to a house fire at 1305 7th Avenue on Tybee Island, forcing evacuations of nearby homes — three people left the building on their own and no injuries were reported. WTOC 11
- ➤ Bryan County Sheriff Mark Crowe said a child was pulled from a pool in Ellabell (between Aspen Lane and Groover Hill Road) and rushed to a hospital after a reported drowning, though the child’s condition remained unknown despite showing vital signs. WJCL

- ➤ Effingham County police responded around 3:30 p.m. to a domestic dispute on Ridge Road where 47-year-old George Driggers chased his girlfriend with a gun and barricaded himself, leading officers to use chemical munitions to force him out plus his 80-year-old father was also arrested for obstructing law enforcement, and both face multiple charges as the investigation continues. - ➤ Savannah was nominated as one of 10 towns for The Local Palate’s South’s Best Culinary Towns contest — readers can vote online to help narrow down the top three. The magazine will feature the winning town on Dec. 16 with results announced a few weeks later. Savannah Morning News

- ➤ On Tuesday, Step Up Savannah held its annual career and community resource fair at the Savannah Civic Center from 9 a.m. to noon—dozens of employers offered hiring and second-chance opportunities in growing sectors like logistics, construction, tourism, and healthcare. - ➤ Dr. Timothy Connelly at Memorial Hospital said Savannah's high heat and humidity have led to more people getting heat-related illness with signs like headaches, fatigue and heavy sweating. - ➤ New health data showed that Georgia ranked fourth in the nation for new STD cases and Chatham County ranked 39th per capita — placing it in the top 1 percent of more than 3,000 counties nationwide.
