EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools has released the principal list for the 2025-2026 school year that begins Aug. 4, with several summer reassignments—such as Emmanuel McCall at Alfred Ely Beach High replacing the retired principal—and some schools still waiting for permanent leaders. The board approved 16 assistant principal appointments at its June 25 meeting and held pilot profile meetings in late May. Savannah Morning News

- ➤ The National Hurricane Center is watching an area in the northeastern Gulf that may form a low pressure trough in the next day or two, which could bring heavy rain and flash flooding to parts of Florida and the north-central Gulf coast — even though there is only a 20% chance of development.
