- ➤ Yesterday, city officials cut the ribbon on a new splash pad at Benjamin Van Clark Park as the heat index climbed over 100 degrees—Mayor Van Johnson was among the first to use it. - ➤ Savannah’s third annual Peach Week begins today as 15 restaurants will feature Pearson’s peaches in dishes to raise funds for CURE Childhood Cancer and will run until Saturday, June 28. A Peach Sale will be held on June 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church — satellite sales are set in Rincon and Richmond Hill with preorders available until June 25.
