- ➤ Savannah’s waterfront is holding its free Independence Day Celebration on July 4 with live music, family activities, and a fireworks show launching at 9:30 p.m. from a barge in front of the Savannah Convention Center — nearby restaurants offer food specials and safety guidelines are in place for the event. - ➤ River Street Sweets celebrated National Pralines Day on June 24 by donating praline sale proceeds to support the Kids Cafe program and set a goal of 112,000 meals—a 10% increase over last year with each dollar raised equaling roughly five meals. The ninth annual event at the Broughton Street store ran from noon to 3 p.m. and featured giveaways along with appearances by local figures including Savannah Mayor Van Johnson and co-owner Tim Strickland. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Pooler Police said downed power lines closed a section of Pooler Parkway/Quacco Road between Hamilton Grove and Westbrook on June 24th and urged drivers to avoid the area while utility crews worked to clear the lines (expected to take up to an hour or more). WTOC 11

- ➤ Pooler police are searching for 17-year-old Aniyah Ginyard, last seen Friday and described as 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 173 pounds (if you have any information, contact Detective Kimmons at 912-748-7333). WJCL
- ➤ Savannah Police are searching for missing 18-year-old Christopher Davis, who was last seen at San Anton Drive and Largo Drive wearing a black shirt — neon yellow gym shorts and black slides. WTOC 11

- ➤ The 44th annual Savannah Jazz Festival will take place this fall with over a dozen free concerts scheduled from Sept. 19 to Sept. 21. Concerts will be held at Forsyth Park — District Live in the Plant Riverside District with performances by blues legend Eric Culberson, jazz fusion band Spyro Gyra, and Grammy-winning saxophonist Kirk Whalum. - ➤ The Port of Savannah handled over 500,000 twenty-foot containers in May, marking the second busiest May on record amid three consecutive months of high cargo volumes in a volatile tariff market.
