- ➤ Today, Savannah Mayor Van Johnson will host Mayor’s Play Ball at Grayson Stadium from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.—this event is part of a national initiative with MLB and the U.S. Conference of Mayors to introduce kids ages 5 to 12 to baseball by offering sandlot games, practice drills, and visits with the Savannah Bananas and Firefighters. - ➤ Krystal Crawford is the new CEO of Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia and will oversee troops in 125 counties including parts of Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama. She stressed that the cookie program teaches important business skills and invited Girl Scouts to visit Savannah— the birthplace of the organization— to connect with its historic roots. WSAV

CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A plea hearing is set for today in Savannah for an accused fake lawyer—court officials have not yet released details about the charges. WTOC 11
- ➤ A man suffered non-life threatening injuries to his legs in a shooting on Crescent Drive early Sunday morning at 3:18 a.m.—Savannah Police Department said the investigation is ongoing and asked anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers. WJCL
- ➤ Police arrested several individuals after a violent fight erupted at Nickie’s on Tybee Island—a bar incident that quickly escalated among patrons. WTOC 11
- ➤ A person was shot in the leg in East Savannah on Sunday morning at around 4:30 a.m.—the injury was not life-threatening. WTOC 11
- ➤ Tybee Island police said that on May 29th just before midnight at Nickie’s Bar and Grill, a fight involving 30 people broke out when a bar owner tried to remove an underage patron and a 48-year-old man from Fort Morgan shoved him into a truck and punched him; police later arrested the man and a 34-year-old from Savannah after finding he was already wanted in Chatham County.
