- ➤ The 2025 Point-in-Time Count by the Chatham-Savannah Authority for the Homeless and Interagency Council on Homelessness showed that overall homelessness in Savannah increased while unsheltered counts and encampments dropped to 39 — a sign that shelter programs are working. - ➤ The Savannah Chamber of Commerce is seeking volunteers to help serve free lunches at the Kids Summer Café at Hunter Army Airfield, which will run from June 1 to August 1. - ➤ Chatham County Police are looking for a missing 15-year-old teen—Zahy’ir Witcher—who was last seen Saturday night near Berwick Lakes Boulevard at about 10:15 p.m., wearing a black Air Force ROTC t-shirt, red Grinch themed pajama pants, and beige sandals. WTOC 11
- ➤ Newly obtained video captured a downtown Savannah shootout on Congress Street during early Saturday morning that sent four people to the hospital—police have not yet reported any arrests, and Mayor Van Johnson discussed the incident during his Tuesday press conference. WJCL
- ➤ Kasey Levi Lyons Dyak, convicted in May for a 2019 rape on Whitemarsh Island when he broke into a Colonial Grand apartment on June 1, 2019 and attacked a sleeping woman, will be sentenced to life without parole Friday. WSAV
