On Friday, May 15, at a marina on Hutchinson Island, at least a dozen manatees were stranded when a low tide blocked their exit while feeding on marsh plants (they cooled off in mud until the tide rose about seven hours later).

Georgia Ports Authority submitted a letter to fund a study to deepen and widen the Savannah River.
