  • The Epilepsy Research Foundation will build new libraries in Garden City to provide vital educational resources and raise awareness about epilepsy. Construction is scheduled to begin soon, promising enhanced community support.  WTOC 11

  • Fifth Third Bank opened its first-ever Georgia financial center in Pooler on Tuesday, May 12 — the event featured a ribbon cutting, community open house, and tours that included local leadership and vendor refreshments.  Savannah Business Journal
  • Old Town Trolley Tours of Savannah promoted Ashley Pruden to Assistant General Manager of Savannah Operations today. Pruden, who joined the company in 2015 (working in sales, special projects, HR, and operations), brings diverse experience to strengthen local tourism.  Savannah Business Journal
  • Today, Coastal States Bank announced its 48-Hour Small Business Loan Program, offering loan decisions in as little as two business days for qualified small businesses (with less than $5M in revenue) that have been operating for at least three years (approval subject to meeting eligibility criteria).  Savannah Business Journal
  • Old Town Trolley Tours has announced Justin Bahl as its new General Manager in Savannah—he brings experience from Key West and San Antonio and is set to enhance guest services today.  Savannah Business Journal

  • A local college honored Sharpe with a memorial scholarship on Friday, May 15 to recognize his academic accomplishments—a sign of the institution's commitment to supporting outstanding students.  WTOC 11
  • Savannah Country Day held its graduation ceremony at the Savannah Convention Center on Saturday, May 16 — families, friends and faculty celebrated the achievements of the Class of 2026.  Savannah Morning News
  • Benedictine Military School celebrated its Class of 2026 graduation on Sunday, May 17 at the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist as graduates tossed caps + reunited with family, marking a milestone before they look forward to new beginnings.  Savannah Morning News

  • Today, Healthy Savannah released a one-minute PSA featuring Mia Mance that recognizes local organizations providing lactation spaces and supportive policies.   • At the GHSA State Track and Field meet yesterday, Bradwell Institute junior Jacobi Pasley made history by winning the 100, 200, and 400-meter sprints at the new Spec Towns Track facility at the University of Georgia; Richmond Hill’s team posted a strong second-place finish in Class 6A.  Savannah Morning News
