- ➤ Tybee Island officials reported that the beach access points at 2nd and 19th Streets reopened after nearly a year of closure due to erosion — natural sand buildup made it safe ahead of the busy summer season. City leaders will continue to seek funding to address the beach loss. WTOC 11
- ➤ Effingham County's Meldrim Park will reopen Saturday, May 16 after an $880,000 renovation updated its courts and playground equipment. A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled at 1 p.m. to mark the celebration. Savannah Morning News
- ➤ A local moving company donated furniture to victims of a Georgetown apartment fire on Monday, May 11. The donation helped residents begin to rebuild their homes following the incident. WTOC 11

- ➤ Tanger Outlets Savannah is adding Sandbox VR (an immersive gaming experience scheduled to open on May 15) and The Chop House steakhouse, set for 2027, to boost its mix of retail and dining options.
