- ➤ Tybee Island officials reported that the beach access points at 2nd and 19th Streets reopened after nearly a year of closure due to erosion — natural sand buildup made it safe ahead of the busy summer season. City leaders will continue to seek funding to address the beach loss. WTOC 11
- ➤ Effingham County's Meldrim Park will reopen Saturday, May 16 after an $880,000 renovation updated its courts and playground equipment. A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled at 1 p.m. to mark the celebration. Savannah Morning News
