Tybee Island officials reported that sea turtle nesting season began May 1 and urged residents and visitors to turn off lights by 9 p.m. Marine Science Center staff will mark nests with yellow tape — and ask beachgoers to fill in holes and remove sandcastles to keep turtles safe.

Today, the Savannah City Council will consider approving a development plan on the 125.093 acre Hill Durrence Tract in Aldermanic District 5 at the intersection of Fort Argyle Road and Kaizen Parkway.

The plan will combine a residential complex near the road entrance — and warehouses toward the center and rear of the tract.
