- ➤ WTOC received four Southeast Regional EMMY nominations Sunday—marking the most for any station in the Savannah market—and the nods cover categories such as Morning Newscast, Team Coverage, Human Interest, and News Promotion. The station will compete for the awards on June 14 in Atlanta. WTOC 11

- ➤ Georgia shrimpers have seen their industry decline as foreign imports, fewer boats, and a climate-driven disease called black gill affect summer brown shrimp—local packing houses have closed and dock access has diminished. State representative Petrea plans to reintroduce a law to require restaurant labeling of shrimp origin next year to help boost domestic business. Savannah Morning News
