- ➤ Alee Shriners in Savannah are preparing for their 13th annual Iron Butt Ride — a 24-hour, 1000-mile motorcycle journey to benefit Shriners Children's Hospital in Greenville. The ride will begin Friday at 6:00 p.m. from Savannah and finish in Greenville where riders will hand deliver a check to the hospital. WJCL

- ➤ Savannah Catholics mourn Pope Francis as parishioners recall his legacy amid recent gatherings for Mass after his sudden passing. The Diocese is holding a Repose of the Soul Mass today at 6 p.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist—open to all who wish to honor his life. WJCL

- ➤ Savannah will host its 25th annual Earth Day Festival on April 25 in Daffin Park from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The free event features interactive exhibits, live music, and vendor booths from 35 nonprofits and eight eco-friendly providers (volunteer options are available) for families. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Savannah launched an online survey today—open to residents and visitors—to rank spending priorities for a proposed 1% sales tax that will fund capital projects if approved in a November referendum. The survey remains open until May 16 and its results will guide the project list that must be submitted by May 23 before county officials vote by July 16. GPB News
- ➤ Local officials have advised that residents in the greater Savannah area prepare for hurricanes by using four main evacuation routes—Highway 204, Highway 21, Highway 80, and I-16, which will operate with contraflow during emergencies. Chatham County is split into three zones—Zone A east of Truman Parkway, Zone B between Truman and I-95, and Zone C west of I-95—and residents should know their zone and have a clear plan as orders may arrive with little notice.
