- ➤ Bryan County Sheriff's Office resumed recovery efforts Tuesday at 7 a.m. after a construction worker fell from the I-95 bridge into the Ogeechee River Monday afternoon while painting under the bridge near the Chatham-Bryan County line—officials say strong winds forced a shift from rescue to recovery efforts. - ➤ Spirit Airlines is launching nonstop flights at Savannah Hilton International Airport this summer. The carrier will begin daily service to Newark on August 14 — it will also start nonstop flights to Fort Lauderdale and Nashville on October 9 and to Detroit on October 10. WTOC 11

- ➤ Two people were fatally shot on Fernwood Drive and in Tatumville, raising Savannah's homicide total to nine for 2025—Mayor Van Johnson said guns stolen from vehicles likely were used as police search for suspects. WJCL
- ➤ Two men accused of breaking into a Price Street home on January 11 in Savannah by posing as Amazon workers who beat and robbed the homeowner for $60 were held after a Tuesday court hearing—27-year-old Tyrone Anthony appeared with a public defender while 26-year-old Kelvin Waye waived his hearing as the case will move to a grand jury. - ➤ Garden City Police are asking for help finding Nigeria Tukes, a 13-year-old last seen at a Garden City residence at 4:47 p.m. on April 7 wearing a pink bonnet and grey shirt and pants—she is 5′7″, weighs 120 lbs, and was with a male juvenile thought to live in Frazier Homes in Savannah, so please call 912-966-7777 if you have any information. - ➤ The Savannah’s Waterfront Community Improvement District Board of Directors adopted a Vision and Implementation Plan for River Street today after a year-long study of improvements including aesthetics, landscaping, lighting and security along the waterfront from Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard to East Broad Street. The plan covers key areas such as River Street (focusing on Factors Walk, Riverfront Plazas and the north side of Bay Street) to boost community vibrancy, safety and economic prosperity.
