  • Today, Savannah artist Inky Brittany owner Brittany Curry is preparing to celebrate her 10th business anniversary on May 22 with a series of social media videos that show her creative process. Over the past ten years, Curry has become a pillar of the community through her art and activism and has launched a new website featuring her story and portfolio.  Savannah Business Journal
  • Andee DiCola, an Army mom whose son served as a ranger, raised funds after four Fort Stewart soldiers died in a training mission in Lithuania. DiCola, who volunteers with the Landings Military Relief Fund and works for Vereen’s Turf Products, said a $10,000 donation will help the widows travel to Lithuania for a memorial service (supported by the Lithuanian community).  WJCL

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Five people died when two vehicles collided in McIntosh County Sunday morning at 6:00 a.m.—one vehicle burst into flames and a passenger from the other vehicle was taken to the hospital.  WSAV
  • Five people died Sunday morning on I-95 in McIntosh County when two southbound cars collided around 6 a.m.—two adults and three children in one car lost their lives, while a passenger in the other vehicle was hospitalized.  WTOC 11
  • A two-vehicle crash on I-95 in McIntosh County killed a mother and her four children, aged 3 months, 2, 4 and 9 years, after a Jeep Cherokee rear-ended an Infiniti near mile marker 62 at about 6 a.m. Sunday.  Savannah Morning News
  • A pedestrian was struck Saturday night on West Bay Street at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at 9:30 p.m. and was taken to a local hospital, an SPD spokesperson confirmed—injury details were not immediately clear.  Savannah Morning News

  • Savannah Police said an overnight shooting near the 800 block of Tatem Street left one man with life-threatening injuries—authorities ask anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020.  WJCL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • After a warm weekend when many people visited the beaches, Tybee Island officials urged residents to review safety measures because hazards like steep drop offs and rip currents can be dangerous. Lifeguards will be hired soon and the Ocean Rescue team will post daily warnings — adding extra checks as beach season begins.  WTOC 11
