  • Local groups scheduled 21 Easter egg hunts for families in Savannah between Friday, April 11 and Sunday, April 20—events include glow-in-the-dark hunts, magic shows, candy drops from a helicopter, and visits from the Easter Bunny. Many hunts are free and take place at parks, churches and community centers—offering games, snacks and fun activities for all ages.  Savannah Morning News

  • An overturned tractor trailer closed President Street between Pennsylvania Avenue and Truman Parkway around 1:00 p.m. Saturday and Chatham County staff work to clear the area without a set timeline — officials urge drivers to use detours.  WTOC 11

CULTURE NEWS

  • Local actor Zachary Tate, who grew up in Savannah, stars as Johnny Cash in Million Dollar Quartet at the Historic Savannah Theatre. The show retells a famous 1956 jam session and will begin on April 10th — drawing local fans to a piece of musical history.  WSAV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A proposed bill to limit public access to police reports and lawmaker communications was abandoned Friday after First Amendment advocates warned it would weaken transparency & a revised version now sits on the governor’s desk for review.  The Current
  • Pooler Development Authority launched a Main Street Facade Grant Program that offers up to $10,000 in matching funds for business improvements—projects include signage replacement, landscaping and lighting upgrades. The program is part of a five to ten-year master plan and applications opened April 1 with reviews set every month until funds run out.  Savannah Morning News
