COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Dozens joined the walk on Sunday at Grayson Stadium in Savannah to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society hosted the event, and families walked to support research and treatment—showing their unity against the disease.  WTOC 11
  • The National Association of University Women Savannah branch hosted its annual scholarship brunch on Sunday in observance of Women’s History Month — WSAV News 3’s Kim Gusby and other honorees were recognized while Alderwoman at Large Carol Bell served as keynote speaker.  WSAV

  • Savannah voters now choose the city's ultimate dish between Shrimp 'n' Grits and Lowcountry Boil after 16 local dishes were reduced to these finalists—voting stays open until 11:59 p.m. on April 2 and the winner will be announced on April 9.  Savannah Morning News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Today, gas prices in the Lower Atlantic region remain at $2.90 per gallon for regular fuel—unchanged for the second week and about 7% below the national average. Prices fell 3 cents since last month and were 2% higher a year ago at $2.97 per gallon.  Savannah Morning News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Tybee Island is working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to measure waves and tides caused by ship wakes that have led to erosion and safety hazards on the north beach. Researchers are using sensors and cameras to gather data for computer models that will guide future fixes — the study will last for several weeks.  WTOC 11

  • A mass was held at Vilnius Cathedral in Lithuania on Sunday to pray for Fort Stewart soldiers who went missing after a training accident at the Pabradė training ground. U.S. Ambassador Kara C. McDonald and service members attended the event—broadcast live on Lithuanian media—as recovery efforts continue.  WJCL
