  • Chris Allen Villegas Fentress was fatally shot on March 15 at Dollar General on West Bay Street after he defended his friends against men who shouted hurtful words, and the Savannah Pride Center held a vigil as authorities charged Johnathan Manson with murder while executive director Michael Bell called for a hate crime investigation—he said Fentress was targeted for being gay.  Savannah Morning News
