  • A murder suspect—47-year-old Frederic Green—was extradited back to Chatham County Jail and now faces murder charges for the November 30th shooting death of 49-year-old Antwan Small on Saussy Road.  WTOC 11

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Mary Thompson, an 84-year-old special education para-professional at Jacob G. Smith Elementary, said she will not retire because she loves working with the kids (she needs them as much as they need her). She has worked at the school for over 20 years and will continue her role with her husband's full support.  WJCL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On March 21, engineers from the Army Corps of Engineers’ Savannah District, the Engineer Research and Development Center and the Field Research Facility, in partnership with the City of Tybee Island, installed test instruments on North Beach to measure large vessel waves caused by deeper channels after the 2022 harbor expansion—data they will use to design solutions that keep beachgoers safe.  Savannah Business Journal
