  • On Tuesday, Mar. 17, two Georgia Lottery tickets sold in Savannah won big prizes. One ticket from Murphy Express on Abercorn St. won $267,604 in the Fantasy 5 drawing and a ticket from Liberty City Convenience on Mills B Lane Blvd. won $10,000 in the Georgia FIVE drawing.  WJCL
  • Mary’s Place Sexual Assault Center of the Coastal Empire will host community events for Sexual Assault Awareness Month — the kickoff begins with a public press conference and lighting at City Hall on April 1 at 7:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.  Savannah Business Journal

  • Azaleas are blooming at historic Bonaventure Cemetery as spring arrives in Savannah + locals can enjoy the vibrant seasonal display at this cherished landmark.  Savannah Morning News
  • Cirque de Paris opened Thursday night under the big top at Tanger Outlets in Pooler, where the French circus featured acrobatics, juggling and aerial acts that will run through March 29. The family-friendly show brought classic circus charm to the community.  WTOC 11

ECONOMY NEWS

  • A new study from SmartAsset shows that Savannah’s cost of living fell by 0.9% over the past year while Augusta-Aiken and Dalton saw rises of 6.7% and 6.16% respectively. SmartAsset analyzed price changes across 236 cities nationwide.  Savannah Morning News
  • The Georgia Highway Contractors Association will host the Road Jobs Career Fair at Richmond Hill City Center on Friday, March 27 from 10 a.m. to noon at 520 Cedar Street in J.F. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Georgia House passed HB 1199 to suspend the gas tax for 60 days (163 for, 4 against), which may lower regular gas by about $0.33 and diesel by $0.37 per gallon. The bill now heads to the senate before it goes to Governor Brian Kemp.  WJCL
  • On Wednesday, March 18, McIntosh County commissioners held a listening session on Sapelo Island where eight speakers urged restoring a 1,400 sqft maximum and offering tiny home options for Hogg Hummock; the county will compile input from three sessions before holding public hearings on new zoning.  The Current
