- ➤ Savannah K-12 students can ride Chatham Area Transit fixed-route and paratransit buses free until May 31 under a new Student Pass Program approved on Feb. 25 in collaboration with the public school system. - ➤ Voters in Chatham County approved a 1% sales tax referendum on Tuesday that will generate about $705 million through 2030 to fund improvements for Savannah-Chatham County Public School System.
