- ➤ Port Wentworth's new venue, VyStar Pavilion, earned its name from a naming rights deal with VyStar Credit Union announced Tuesday. The open-air amphitheater, located (20 minutes from downtown Savannah), is expected to open in summer 2026 with a concert on Aug.7 plus community-focused initiatives. WJCL

- ➤ Two Effingham County schools were honored as 2026 High Flying Schools (a national recognition for academic and whole-child achievement) at the National Youth Advocacy and Resilience Conference in Savannah this week. - ➤ Over the past four months, the Floridan aquifer in Savannah has risen to record highs — likely because International Paper shut down and cut its water withdrawal by over 10 million gallons per day. - ➤ This tax season, Savannah residents may see refunds $300 to $1,000 higher than usual because of recent law changes, experts say.
