- ➤ Savannah-based Hope Haven received a $15,000 donation from Critz Family Foundation Inc. yesterday to boost its dementia support services (including twice-weekly gatherings and caregiver respite) for local families. WJCL
- ➤ The Savannah St. Patrick’s Day Committee honored its adjutant staff at an annual banquet held today to recognize their contributions in supporting community festivities. The event celebrated dedicated team efforts in planning local celebrations. WTOC 11
- ➤ Loop It Up Savannah’s Soup It Up fundraiser will take place Saturday, March 7, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Kehoe Iron Works Building in Trustees’ Garden; it aims to raise $175,000 for creative learning programs that serve over 11,000 local children (tickets are $125 or two for $200). WTOC 11

- ➤ Georgia lawmakers advanced HB 1023 this week, proposing a mandate that every public K-12 school have weapons-detection systems by next July. Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools said its 146 detectors meet the new requirements as other districts explore options amid unclear funding, and the bill now moves to the state Senate. WJCL

- ➤ Walmart stores in Georgia are recalling certain Great Value cottage cheese products because they may not have been fully pasteurized; the affected items have expiration dates from April 1 to April 3 and shoppers should check their refrigerators + follow return instructions.
