- ➤ On Feb. 22, emergency personnel responded to a grass fire on a runway at Savannah (Hilton Head) International Airport that delayed flights as the blaze was contained by 7:30 p.m. with travelers reporting a loud boom before takeoff. WTOC 11
- ➤ Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport remains open after a Delta flight lost an engine — igniting a grass fire on Sunday evening — with the plane landing safely at 7:12 p.m. and some airlines issuing travel waivers as winter weather affects connections. Savannah Morning News
