- ➤ A 300-year-old oak tree known as 'the one off of little neck road' is set to be cut down for a power expansion project — local residents have raised concerns over its historic value. Georgia Power postponed the removal scheduled for Monday after public feedback. WJCL
- ➤ Yesterday, Visit Savannah celebrated its 50th anniversary with a ceremonial toast, cake cutting & cheers from community leaders including founding president David Young, who recalled the organization's start when I-95 opened. - ➤ Kroger said its popular KroBar at the Wilmington Island store will close at the end of February to allow room for expanded departments and a simpler shopping experience. Corporate officials confirm no additional KroBar closures are planned. WJCL
- ➤ SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket took off early Friday at 5:15 a.m. from Cape Canaveral en route to the International Space Station carrying four astronauts on an eight-month mission, and many in the Savannah area watched the launch. WJCL
- ➤ A new Buc-ee’s in Hardeeville, South Carolina will begin construction early 2026 and is planned to open by 2031 for Savannah residents seeking a closer stop. The site at Exit 8 off I-95 in Jasper County will offer fuel pumps & EV charging stations. Savannah Morning News

- ➤ American Traditions Vocal Competition returns next week at Victory North in the Starland District (its 33rd year) with singers performing works across 16 genres before judges and a live audience. - ➤ The Georgia Department of Natural Resources has halted bluefish fishing for two months to help the fish population recover, affecting onshore and boat anglers in March and April.
