- ➤ Bryan County denied financial incentives for Westwin’s proposed nickel refinery near Richmond Hill Tuesday after months of public opposition over environmental concerns and disputed job claims — Westwin said it would continue the project without government support. WJCL

- ➤ An Effingham County man discovered atrial fibrillation when his Samsung smartwatch alerted him to an irregular heartbeat that an in-office EKG missed.
