  • Forsyth Farmers’ Market and FARM Hospitality Group will host the second annual Chefs + Farmers: A Culinary Experience at Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum on Thursday, March 5 at 7 p.m.; local chefs will serve seasonal dishes with live music, cocktails and garden tours, supporting market programs and farmers.  Savannah Business Journal
  • Airlines are announcing delays and cancellations at Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport and nearby airports due to winter weather affecting flight crews arriving from other regions, so passengers should check the official departure boards for updated flight status (8:49 a.m.).  WJCL
  • The City of Savannah and nonprofit partners are providing expanded shelter services today until early morning at sites including Tompkins Regional Center (45 beds) amid a cold weather advisory that expects wind chills in the low-to-mid teens, with additional help for pet owners.  Savannah Morning News
  • Clayin Cassell, a Long County high school senior at Savannah Technical College who recovered from a hospital stay, launched Coloring Books for Smiles to donate art supplies to children.   • The Savannah Mile race will take place on May 16 to honor first responders as runners join the one-mile route that begins at Forsyth Park and finishes on Broughton Street; the race features six heats (including the Memory Walk and Heroes Heat) for runners of all ages.  WTOC 11

  • State lawmakers are considering a ban on cell phones in high school classrooms from the morning bell until dismissal beginning July 2027 if signed by Gov. Brian Kemp. Teachers strongly favor the change (per survey results) despite concerns over emergency communication.  The Current

  • A cold front pushed Arctic air into coastal areas today with breezy skies and a high near 48. Tonight, many areas will face dangerously cold lows in the 20s and wind chills in the low teens, and an Arctic surge is forecast for the weekend.  WJCL

  • Extra Space Storage’s research released yesterday (Jan.26 at 2:46 p.m.) ranked Savannah as the only Georgia city in the national top 10 spring break list at No.9.
