- ➤ St. Joseph’s/Candler begins offering free tax help at St. Mary’s Community Center on Monday, Jan. 26 and through Feb. 28 for families earning under $80,000. Services run on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m in Savannah. WTOC 11
- ➤ Senior Citizens Inc. celebrated delivering its 7 millionth meal on Wednesday — a 65-year milestone in supporting homebound seniors in Savannah. The Meals on Wheels program now delivers 1,800 meals a day to keep seniors safe and nourished. WJCL
- ➤ Healthy Savannah with Savannah Tree Foundation hosted a tree planting ceremony on Jan. 17 at Scarborough Sports Complex to honor Dr. Otis Johnson (celebrated by Mayor Van Johnson and community leaders) before a two-mile healthy walk along Truman Linear Park Trail took place. - ➤ SCAD visited Jenkins High School to donate hundreds of art supplies and present a performance by its Bee Sharps vocal ensemble — part of the SCAD SERVE initiative aimed at sparking creative expression among students. The Savannah Tribune
- ➤ SSU was awarded a $3.8m grant from the U.S. Department of Education to lead the AI Teaching and Learning Collaborative that will advance ethical AI integration in teacher training statewide.
