  • On Friday, Telfair Museums laid off 15% of its staff due to funding shortfalls — executive director Dr. David Brenneman said the restructuring after board approval aims to boost revenues with quality programs while former employees were shocked by the sudden Zoom firings.  WJCL

  • A MoneyLion study ranked Grovetown as No. 19 and Savannah as No. 21 among America’s 50 cheapest and safest places to live. Savannah scored 81 with high ratings in amenities, commute, cost of living, health and safety, and housing.  Savannah Morning News

  • Environmental groups filed a petition on Jan. 9 asking the Public Service Commission to reexamine Georgia Power’s 9.9-gigawatt grid expansion aimed at powering new data centers.
