- ➤ A crash shut down lanes on I-16 after it damaged road signs at State Road 204/37th Street — the Georgia Department of Transportation said the incident occurred at 9:15 a.m. with details still limited. WJCL

- ➤ Hyundai Motor Group announced its AI robotics strategy on Jan. 5 at an international conference last year to boost human & robot teamwork at its major Savannah auto plant. The company will debut a new Atlas® robot at its Ellabell Metaplant by 2028. Savannah Business Journal
- ➤ Savannah-based Clearwave Fiber combined with Point Broadband on Jan. 5 to create one of the largest independent fiber operators — reaching over 500,000 homes and businesses across 12 states. The deal excluded Southern Illinois assets acquired by Metro Communications. Savannah Business Journal
- ➤ Stephanie Dammen-Morrell was named Principal at Hussey Gay Bell on Jan. 5 as the firm expanded its leadership team; CEO G. Holmes Bell IV (PE) said her expertise will support its long-term objectives. Savannah Business Journal
- ➤ Hannah Griggers Brown, AIA joined Hussey Gay Bell’s Savannah Architectural Studio on Jan. 5 as Senior Project Manager. She brings over 11 years of experience in designing K–12 school facilities and will serve as AIA Savannah Chapter president in 2026 (she earned degrees from SCAD and Georgia Tech).
